Women's College Player Officials Academy, Boyds, MD, June 15, 2024

 USA Lacrosse College Player Officials Academy-Level 1 Training and Certification

USA Lacrosse College Player Officials Academy-Level 1 Training: This clinic is the first step in developing your skills as a Girls Lacrosse Official and will set you up for success on the field as an official.

USA Lacrosse in conjunction with the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) offer this training for current and recently graduated women's lacrosse college players.  Participants will complete online classroom training, in addition to gaining experience through on-field training and live games.  Upon completion of this on-field training, the Rules Online Course, the annual rules exam and annual professional development course, the participants will be USA Lacrosse Certified Officials.

The registration fee will cover all virtual and on-field training, and evaluation and rating by certified trainers and an official's starter kit*(uniform top, whistle, cards).  In addition, lunch will be provided at the all day on-field session.  Participants are responsible for travel and lodging costs.

Participants, are also encouraged to apply for the IWLCA Trina Mangano Scholarship which underwrites the entire cost of training, rating, membership dues and outfitting up to five (5) new officials each year.  Applicants must be a current or recent member of an IWLCA dues paying NCAA or NAIA institution to apply for this scholarship.

After registering, participants shall receeive an email from officials@usalacrosse.com with important information regarding the clinic details.  USA Lacrosse reserves the right to reschedule any sessions with fewer than 6 officials enrolled. 

Note: The clinic is also open to players or coaches with experience in women's lacrosse, however this will not include the official's start kit or access to the scholarship.  

 

Trina Mangano Scholarship

Trina Mangano was a nationally and internationally rated official who served as a member of the USA Lacrosse Training Committe, in addition to being a CWLOA trainer.  Trina was instrumental in supporting the growth of the sport through her work training officials.  This annual scholarship presented by the IWLCA, underwrites the entire cost of training, rating and outfitting up to five (5) new officials each year.

Applicants must be a current or recent member of an IWLCA dues paying NCAA or NAIA institution to apply for this scholarship.

USA Lacrosse Player Academy Sixes Camp

USA Lacrosse Player Academy Sixes Camp is heading to Dallas,TX. The 2-day camp is designed and operated by USA Lacrosse National Team Players with assistance from USAL Certified Coaches. The Sixes Camp will focus on player development through the Sixes format to focus on shooting, dodging, passing, communication, and lacrosse IQ development. Players will participate in three 3-hour drill & skill sessions with the camp concluding in round robin game play.

Each player will receive a USAL Pinnie at the Camp.

USA Lacrosse National Team Athletes and Coaches at this camp will be announced soon!



ALL PLAYERS MUST BE USA LACROSSE MEMBERS



Player Check-in: 8:00am each day

Player Pick-up: 4:00pm each day


All campers are required to bring the following: 

BOYS – Helmet, Gloves, Pads (Shoulder/Arm), Mouthguard, Lacrosse stick, Cleats, Athletic cup, Sunblock, Athletic clothes (shorts, t-shirts, socks, etc.), Water bottle, Lunch.

GIRLS – Goggles, Mouthguard, Lacrosse stick, Cleats, Sunblock, Athletic clothes (shorts, t-shirts, socks, etc.), Water bottle, Lunch. 


Weather Policy

In the event of adverse weather or unplayable field conditions, USAL, the Camp Director, and/or Head Athletic Trainer reserves the right to:

  • Reduce play times in order to catch up with schedule.
  • Conclude sessions before inclement weather arrives, or to preserve field conditions or player and spectator safety.
  • Cancel the tryout in its entirety. If a tryout is canceled in whole, for whatever reason, by USA Lacrosse, USA Lacrosse will issue partial refunds. Players may submit a virtual application instead at no additional cost.
  • If thunder or lightning is observed, play will be suspended immediately, and players and spectators will be asked to leave the field(s). Play will be allowed to resume 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder or sighting of lightning is observed which will be determined by the event medical staff. Every attempt will be made to begin subsequent play on time. (Please see USL EAP for additional information)

Refund, Cancelation and Transfer Policy


  • A refund may be requested no later than 2 weeks prior to the camp date. If the request is made within 2 weeks of the camp, USA Lacrosse cannot guarantee a full refund.
  • Camp registration will be closed no later than 1 week prior to the tryout date if not already sold out.
  • No refunds will be issued if the event is shortened in part for any reason, including inclement weather or any other "Act of God."
  • If a tryout is canceled in whole, for whatever reason, by USA Lacrosse, USA Lacrosse will issue partial refunds. Players may submit a virtual application instead at no additional cost. 
  • No refund for any player that is removed from the event by the Camp Director, Event Director, or any USA Lacrosse employee, for behavior that is not compliant with the event rules and facility protocol.
  • USA Lacrosse, its coaches, employees, and staff will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by any player if the event is canceled in whole or in part.
  • USA Lacrosse, along with local county or school officials, reserves the right to decide on all matters pertaining to the operation of the event and its judgment is final.
